Today, Nyewasco had the honour of hosting two delegations on benchmarking visits, each focusing on different aspects of water management and operations.
The first delegation, from the Murang’a County Assembly, comprised approximately 18 members who explored various areas of interest. These included tariff changes and best practices related to water tariffs, illegal connections, coverage area, staff cadres, customer database management, corporate social responsibility (CSR), the contribution of water deposits to daily operations, partnerships with the County Government of Nyeri (CGN), Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA), and the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB). They also discussed customer satisfaction surveys and the use of modern technology, such as smart meters. The visit was marked by a productive exchange of insights and experiences between both teams.
In addition, we were pleased to host a second delegation from Chemususu Water Company Ltd., based in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County, consisting of approximately 5 members. Their focus was on technical and operational areas, including billing modules, the Maji App, accounting management, HR payroll systems, GIS, and inventory management. They also explored the integration of banking systems with Mpesa and processes related to software development, customisation, deployment, data migration, and training. We thank the team from Chemususu for their participation and the valuable knowledge exchange that took place.
Both visits were highly beneficial, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices to improve water service delivery across counties. Nyewasco is proud to continue supporting such exchanges, which contribute to the growth and development of the water sector.
