Stakeholder engagement is premised on the notion that ‘those groups who can affect or are affected by the achievements of an organization’s purpose’ should be given the opportunity to comment and input into the development of decisions that affect them. NYEWASCO strives to be a Global Leader in Provision of Quality Water, Sanitation and Allied services at environmentally and economically sustainable levels through application of innovative processes and appropriate technology to the delight of our customers and other stakeholders. It is with this in mind that the company held a stakeholder engagement exercise at the White Rhino Hotel on Wednesday, 8th 2022. During the event stakeholders representing different organizations were given a chance to deliberate on the activities of the company and give feedback which is central to improving accountability within the company as well as to our customers and other stakeholders.
Speaking during the event, the County Executive Committee Member, Department of Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Sanitation Mr. Fredrick Kinyua reiterated the County Governments of Nyeri’s commitment to ensuring that all her residents are served with clean potable water by the end of the year 2022. He also commended NYEWASCO for the exceptional services the company offers to her consumers.
NYEWASCO Managing Director Eng. Peter Kahuthu who hosted the event emphasized on the commitment that the Company has in fulfilling its mandate. He also enlightened the stakeholders of the current challenges NYEWASCO is facing in her quest to meet the ever growing demand for water and sanitation services as well as the steps that the company is taking to curb the challenges.
NYEWASCO is a key player in the water sector in Kenya. The company has held the number one position for the last 13 years according to a performance Report of Kenya’s Water Services Sector which is conducted by the Water Sector Regulatory Board (WASREB).
