In an effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 Virus in the Country, Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company Ltd has identified several strategic areas in Nyeri Central Sub-County and constructed 65 free hand washing points for the general public. The water is also safe for drinking. Speaking during the launch of the initiative, Managing Director Peter Gichaaga reached out to other corporate bodies within Nyeri to come out and support the ‘Water for all’ campaign. He reiterated the company’s commitment to ensure few or no supply interruptions even as the country grapples with the effects of the COVID-19. He was speaking at the Kamukunji market where NYEWASCO staff conducted a hand washing sensitization campaign. The traders were taught the importance of washing their hands with soap and clean water and to observe other guidelines given by the Ministry of Health so as to flatten the spread curve of COVID-19.
